Follow the instructions below to prepare for your Show Critique and have it air on The PodQuest Show. In order to fully capitalize on our time together, you should also take advantage of your included 30-second Promo-Bite.
Please adhere to the instructions that follow as closely as possible. Breaking any of the parameters may cause unforeseen challenges and delay the release of your episode.
Feel free to direct us to the episode on Apple Podcasts, or just send us the mp3. We will need this at least 2 weeks in advance of your scheduled recording date.
Go to PodQuest to book your upcoming episode with Michael AFTER you have sent in your favorite episode. Please do NOT book a date that is less than two weeks from when you sent us your episode.
Your episode will be recorded over Zoom in both video and audio. Please be well lit and set up with professional sound. Be prepared to chat about your equipment, your choices, your style, and more.
While most people get a great deal of insights into how to improve their show, some are left feeling that they'd rather keep the session "private". While you will not be refunded for the critique and training, we will hold release of the episode at your request.
In 30 seconds or less, tell our listeners what your show is about, what they can expect to get from tuning in, and why they should subscribe. If you have an intro episode or a favorite one they should listen to - let them know!
Take up to the full 30-seconds, but no less than 20. Do NOT exceed 30 seconds. Profanity is okay, as our show already has an explicit rating, but please keep it reasonable.
Please send the completed spot in either .wav or .mp3 format, in the best quality you can create to [email protected]. We will place your clip into a multitrack session and would like to start with top-notch audio.
Also, please send us your show artwork (1400px x 1400px @ 72ppi) and a short bio, as well as the best link to your podcast. We will post your artwork on our website and have it linked to your show accordingly.
We will let you know when your Show Critique and Promo-Bite is going to go "live". Please see the FAQs below for further details about the spot and what you can and cannot expect.
Immediately following the recording of our episode together, if you feel that you would rather not let it become publicly available, we will honor that request and hold release of the show.
The Show Critique is just an opinion and should be taken as only that. This is also why we like to do the episode together so that you may express your counter-opinion or give explanation as to why something is the way it is. We even preface each episode with the statement that it is merely from the point of our subjective view.
If you have not yet sent us an episode or booked your time slot to record, you may request a refund (less a processing fee of $15). Once the work has begun in the listening to and critiquing of your episode, there is no longer a refund option.
You have a very short window of time in which you may block the airing of the episode - immediately after our recording session up until the editing has begun. Once we begin the editing process, the show is needed to fill our editorial schedule and we won't have time to replace it.
No. We have limited space for these podcast promos, and we run a tight schedule for the show in general. If you cannot express everything you need to say about your show in 30 seconds, you could buy two promo-bites and stack them.
We release one Show Critique Episode per month at the most, so depending on how many we have in the queue, it could be up to 4 or 5 months before it goes "live".
We'll release your Promo-Bite on the episode immediately prior to your Show Critique. This way, you'll get twice the promo as we also give mention that you'll be featured in the upcoming show.
Absolutely not! We never go back to edit prior episodes unless there is some extenuating circumstance. So, unless you've plagiarized your spot (and you don't even own the show you talked about), your Promo-Bite will live for years to come.
Not at all. The finished product will be exported as mono, so however you want to send it to us is fine on our end. That said, we do want to begin with the best quality you can muster. Like a photograph, we want to at least start with a higher resolution.
Since the majority of podcast listeners use Apple Podcasts, we highly recommend that you send us the link to your show in Apple. This will also work best for your ranking, if we drive a lot of new listeners (and hopefully subscribers) to your show there.
There are many circumstances in which you may want to do more than one Promo-Bite:
You may certainly purchase as many Promo-bites as you wish, and we may even offer package rates at some point in the future.
Under most circumstances, the answer would be no. At the current discounted rate, we are unable to add any more personal touch (i.e. scheduling considerations) right now. This may change in the future or be added as an optional upgrade. Feel free to contact us if you really need a specific date.
Our goal with Show Critiques is to make you a better podcaster with a better show. We will do everything we can to present your show in the best possible light, even when pointing out an error or something that could be better. We will also be sure to highlight many of the positive aspects of your podcast, as well. The goal is to drive listenership to your show.
Please check out these other options and see if one may suit your promotional needs.
